Simple Pastry Recipe (Fiteer)

Simple Fried Pastries (fiteer)

Flour
Water
Pinch of salt
oil for pan frying

Mix flour and water with a pinch of salt. You need a bread dough that's not sticky, so use a ratio of about 2:1, flour to water. That is, if you use 2 cups flour, you will need about 1 cup water to get the right consistency.

Roll out medium-sized balls of dough with a rolling pin. Fry in a pan until golden.

Eat with powdered sugar or syrup or any jam or jelly to satisfy your sweet tooth. Eat with tahina or olives or fava beans for salty. And, of course, if you're not fasting, cheese would be delicious.
