Seek My Face

"When You said, 'Seek My face,'My heart said to You, 'Your face, LORD, I will seek.'Do not hide Your face from me;Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help;Do not leave me nor forsake me,O God of my salvation."Psalm 27:8-9Our verse comes from the Psalm of the Divine Liturgy for the Second Sunday of Lent, The Temptation of Christ.Lent is about sacrifice, about giving up something we love (or letting go) in favor of the Beloved. Instead of seeking out the latest and greatest meal, we're seeking the face of our Lord Jesus Christ. This verse is very, very special to me. It's the one that I turn to when I am most down, when I am feeling the most defeated. It is my 911 call to God. Take this week to memorize it and add it to your scripture tool-belt if it's not there already.
