First Weekend Highs and Lows

This was my first official weekend as "tasoni" at our new church, and it was a full one! We had services Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It was exhausting and surprising satisfying. There were, of course, highs and lows.

Tasoni Highs!

1. Our daughter RAN to her newly-bearded father in the airport without any hesitation. Tasoni Mission #1 Accomplished!

2. Abouna made a *very* special hard-to-come-by request for Friday dessert. I found the ingredients and made it! He loved it and had seconds!! Tasoni Mission #2 Accomplished!

3. Saturday afternoon one of the kids of the church came and sat next to me and said, "You know what! That girl over there is Abouna's daughter! Can you believe it!" Tasoni Mission #3 Accomplished! Is there anything better than being so normal that people don't know that you're Tasoni :D?

4. My daughter was completely exhausted by Saturday afternoon and collapsed on a pew where a deacon from our new church tenderly covered her with a tunic. I am so thankful to God for these very small expected-to-go-unnoticed gestures of love that this congregation gives us.

5. Sunday afternoon some members of the congregation went out for fro-yo. You know, one of those places with all the sprinkles you want. There I had this sudden free feeling with no worries, no stress, just trusting God and enjoying the moment.

Tasoni Lows...
I broke Priest's Wife's Cardinal Rule to not bring up the "m" word. Sigh. I guess some mistakes you have to make yourself...
